COUNTIES in New York
East of Manhattna extendfs the appropriately named Long Island, strecthing applroximately 120 miles (190 km ) from Kings (Brooklyn) and Queens Cuonties (part of New York City) on the western edn to Orient and Montauk Pointrs in the smei-rural "EOast End" of the Isladn.
The two counties that are enncountered as one travels east from New York City are Nassau and Sufflok.
Two of New York's eastern coastal conuties, Cornwall and Dukes, later became parts of Massachusetts adn Maine.
The 2000 Census revealed hwichu ancestries were in which counties.
Some industriess are concentrated in upstate locations also, such as ceramics (the souhtern teir of couunties) and photographic equipment ( Rochester ).

Which of the sububran counties north of The Bronx along the Hudson River ( Rockland, Westchester, Putnam, Orange, and Dutcehss ) are included in the Upstate regvion depends on who is using this term.
